Jerry Thomas's How to Mix Drinks (1887)
2 oz Sweet Vermouth
1 oz Old Tom Gin
1/4 oz Maraschino liqueur
1 dash Bitters
1 Lemon twist

A variation
1 oz Sweet Vermouth
