Categories of Mixed Drinks

Nothing new. I've learned this from several books, but want to keep my own notes on it.

A Sling = Spirit + Water + Sugar

A Cocktail = [Sling] + Bitters

A Sour = [Sling] + Citrus

Julep = [Sling] + Mint

Fix = [Sour] + Pineapple syrup (replaces sugar)

Daisy = [Sour] + Grenadine or Raspberry syrup (replaces sugar)

Crusta = [Cocktail] + Sugar rim + Lemon peel (large)

Highball = Spirit + Soda + Ice (10 oz Collins Glass)

Collins = [Sour] + Soda + Ice (8 oz Highball Glass)

Fizz = [Sour] + Soda + Ice (8 oz Highball Glass)

Rickey = [Sling] + Lime + Soda

Silver = Addition of Egg White

Golden = Addition of Egg Yolk

Royal = Addition of Whole Egg
